Ayrshire Golf Association - Scratch League 2025
Following promotion to Division 1 last year, we are fortunate to be able to retain the backbone of that squad.
The 2025 matches for League 1 and current results are shown below.
In what is a very strong league with every team being able to field very talented players, our guys are doing fantastically well and currently sit top of League 1 after 7 matches, although only on games won so still very tight.. AGA have not yet produced a current league table on their website, but as soon as they do we will reproduce it here. In the meantime.lets hope the guys can keep up their good form and repeat last seasons successful season. Successive league titles would be a tremendous achievement.

Ayrshire Golf Association - Handicap League 2025
The handicap team were drawn in League 4 of the Ayrshire Handicap Leagues with fixtures and results shown in the table below. Following the resignation of 2024 Team captain Stevie Lucas who has stepped up to Match Secretary the team, under the new management of Steven McCreadie (senior), have done fantastically well and topped their leagure to qualify for the quarter finals where they faced a home and away showdown with League 1 winners Portmann
Unfortunately the first leg away at Annanhill didn't go too well, with the guys falling to a 4.5 - 1.5 defeat. Scores were as follows :
Chris Rimmer lost 5/4, Alan Stewart lost 4/2, Ross Meikle won 1up, Simon Comley A/S, Raymond Craig lost 3/1, Allan Moffat lost 2/1.
In the return match the guys fought hard and despite winning their first two matches, in the end could only manage a 3 - 3 draw and so lost out 7.5 - 4.5. This is no disgrace, as Portland have a very good, experienced team and know how to grind out a result. What was evident was how close all the games were, with every matcvh going to the 17th as a minimum. and also the excellent spirit that both ties were played in and our guys really enjoyed the experience. It was still a great result tro qualify from their section.
